Abstract

The use of botulinum toxin A for cosmetic purposes has evolved considerably from its first use to treat the glabellar area. It is now useful not only in multiple sites on the upper, mid, and lower face, but also the neck. Patient acceptance has been widespread, making this one of the most popular cosmetic treatments available. Furthermore, usage was combined with other modalities such as laser resurfacing to provide a synergistic effect that gives superior, longer-lasting results. In this review, the authors discuss their experience in specific areas and compare and contrast that of other authors.
