In this paper, a new concept for an electrochemical capacitor is presented. This new symmetrical device includes two MnO2 electrodes separated with a gel electrolyte, which makes the whole system transparent and less than 1mm thick. Preliminary results for such device revealed a capacitance of 5mF/cm2 that can be maintained over 200 cycles.
