Abstract
The Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) is a self-report outcome measure used to quantify the extent of disability related to low back pain. The purpose of this study was to identify and assess the current usage of existing cross-cultural adaptations of the ODI. Following the documented review process, sixteen cross-cultural adaptations of the ODI were identified. Each study was analyzed for construct validity, test-retest reliability and internal consistency. Overall, the sixteen adaptations demonstrated a high-quality adaptation process and clinicians should be confident when using any of the variations reviewed in this document. Strategies for implementing the best-practice guidelines for cross-cultural adaptations are also provided.
