Abstract
Le développement de l’éducation familiale dans le domaine de la déficience intellectuelle demande la participation des parents aux décisions qui les concernent. Cet article analyse quelques obstacles survenant dans la communication entre les intervenants et les parents. À partir d’une étude menée avec des familles d’adolescents et d’adultes, nous avons identifié plusieurs difficultés. Les intervenants ont tendance à négliger les besoins des parents et à sous-estimer leurs ressources. Ils sont également confrontés à des contraintes de services. Les parents développent des attitudes et des sentiments à l’égard des intervenants qui entravent la communication. Ces obstacles sont analysés à partir du cadre conceptuel proposé pour l’étude du partenariat.
