Cet article fait état d’une étude portant sur les intervenants en entrepreneuriat des régions du Nord-Pas-de-Calais (France) et du Québec (Canada). On présente les perceptions que les accompagnants ont de leur métier, leurs pratiques et les défis à relever pour favoriser le développement économique régional. On constate peu de changements dans les façons de faire et de voir au cours des dernières années. Les différences entre les deux groupes se retrouvent surtout dans la concentration des services offerts selon les différentes phases du processus entrepreneurial. Les besoins des accompagnateurs se traduisent par la prise en compte du processus de socialisation dans le milieu des acteurs d’affaires et mettent en évidence la nécessité de nouvelles compétences que les professionnels en entrepreneuriat se doivent d’acquérir.
