Abstract
L a population d'origine hatienne, installe au Qubec depuis les annes 1960, est value plus de 200 000 personnes de premire, deuxime ou troisime gnrations 1 (Statistique Canada 2012). Il s'agit de la plus importante communaut noire au Qubec et de la deuxime population d'origine hatienne en importance l'tranger (aprs celle des tats-Unis). Depuis le recensement de 2001, environ la moiti des personnes d'origine hatienne sont nes au Canada et appartiennent la deuxime gnration ou plus (Statistique Canada 2007). Au Qubec, cette communaut s'est constitue partir de plusieurs vagues d'immigration depuis les annes 1960 qui ont contribu sa grande diversit en matire de classes sociales, de profils socioprofessionnels, de catgories d'immigrants (rfugis, regroupement familial ou indpendants), de religions, de dveloppements institutionnels ou de parcours migratoires. En plus des facteurs conomiques, ces vagues sont aussi marques par les vnements traumatiques qui marquent l'histoire migratoire et d'exil de la population hatienne, comme la dictature des Duvalier, les nombreux soubresauts politiques depuis 1986 ou le sisme de janvier 2010.
