Abstract
This article describes the features of lexical structure of Canadian language variant connected with historical events that took place from the sixteenth to the twentieth century. The characteristics and description of Canadian idioms and kanadisms lexical items that reflect the cultural, ethnic and historical aspects of the population of Canada are given. The thematic groups of these units, which are complemented by relevant examples, were distinguished.
