Abstract
De manière paradoxale, la diffusion des postures de recherche puisant à l’interactionnisme symbolique en France s’est appuyée sur l’enquête par entretiens approfondis plus que sur la démarche ethnographique. Si cette pente biographique place au coeur de l’investigation les expériences vécues, elle tend à sous-estimer les interactions travaillant les parcours biographiques. Nous proposons ici une méthode pour introduire plus fermement les interactions dans la biographie, et prendre en compte les processus d’ajustement des définitions de situation du locuteur avec celles d’autrui significatifs. Pour cela nous nous appuyons sur une enquête réalisée auprès de chômeurs et organisée en deux séquences : un entretien biographique classique puis un entretien focalisé sur des scènes d’interactions évoquées lors de la première entrevue. Nous procédons en comparant plusieurs cas afin d’identifier les écarts entre les interprétations que les mêmes enquêtés produisent de leur parcours selon qu’on utilise l’une ou l’autre des méthodes de collecte.
