Abstract
La notion de fête est intimement liée au calendrier liturgique chrétien. Certaines dates renvoient à des solennités dont la célébration demande une ampleur inaccoutumée : la Fête-Dieu, mais aussi les Rogations, les fêtes de certains saints tutélaires. Si des constantes, fixées par les rituels, sont évidentes au niveau diocésain, chaque paroisse peut avoir ses coutumes spécifiques. Au-delà de l’aspect dévotionnel, la fête et la procession constituent également un moteur important de la conscience collective d’une communauté.Parmi les formes que revêtent les fêtes, la procession constitue un marqueur catholique qui mobilise la population d’une communauté paroissiale et fait appel à des objets du culte spécifiques : bannières, croix de procession, dais, décors éphémères.
