Non Invasive Evaluation of Cardiac Dysfunction in β‐thalassemic Mice
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Beta‐thalassemia is a genetic hematological disorder characterized by mutations of the hemoglobin gene causing total or partial decrease of the β‐globin chain production. This disease leads to a chronic hemolytic anemia, cardiac complications and blood circulatory problems such as transitory ischemic attacks, thromboembolic events and microcirculatory obstructions. Our objective is to study and dissect the molecular physiologic mechanism of cardiovascular dysfunction in β‐thalassemia. We have generated a murine model of β‐thalassemia major primarily for the investigation of the cardiovascular physiology. Left ventricular morphology and function were assessed by echocardiography in 13.5‐month‐old β‐thalassemic mice and age matched controls. The left ventricular mass index and total peripheral vascular resistance were significantly increased ( p < 0.05 and p < 0.01, respectively) in β‐thalassemic mice compared to wildtype controls. Furthermore, fractional shortening and cardiac output index were significantly decreased ( p < 0.01) in β‐thalassemic mice compared to age matched controls. Thus, these data in β‐thalassemic mice showed left ventricular remodeling by dilatation and hypertrophy that likely play a key role in cardiac dysfunction. Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
