Abstract
Durante las primeras semanas el mexicano o mexicana se siente perdido o perdida en Canada. Ademas de extranar a su familia, necesita aprender como hacer todo: desde mandar una carta hasta abrir una cuenta de banco, llamar por telefono o enviar dinero a Mexico: el desconocimiento del idioma ingles constituye una barrera muy grande. Una iniciativa de la comunidad canadiense para atender la necesidad de los trabajadores mexicanos en Canada a traves del PTAT es el Programa del Maestro-Trabajador del Colegio de las Fronteras. Este es una asociacion canadiense sin fines de lucro que promueve y apoya la alfabetizacion de ninos, jovenes y adultos por medio de una red nacional de voluntarios en Canada.
