Abstract
La figure de Jean-Jules Jusserand, diplomate de la Troisième République et directeur de la collection « Les Grands Écrivains Français » (Hachette, 1887-1913), permet de mettre en lumière la dimension collective de la fabrication des patrimoines littéraires nationaux à la fin du xixe siècle. Son activité en tant que directeur de collection est faite de multiples négociations avec l’éditeur et les collaborateurs qu’il était parvenu à réunir (Ferdinand Brunetière, Anatole France, Gaston Paris, Gustave Lanson, etc.) pour la réussite de son projet : rapprocher les grands hommes du passé des lecteurs du présent. Voir en lui un auteur de la collection permet ainsi d’investiguer un autre régime d’auctorialité, non littéraire, caractérisée par la production du savoir et par sa fragmentation entre plusieurs participants.
