Valett Inventory of Critical Thinking Abilities (VICTA)
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Test structure and administration One hundred items are hierarchically arranged according to Piagetian based cognitive developmental levels ranging from preschool through early adoles cence. Questions are further subdi vided and grouped according to 10 critical thinking skills which are exten sions of Bloom's Cognitive Taxonomy of Educational Objectives. The VICTA is administered individ ually. While untimed, it usually takes approximately 40 minutes. Of the 100 items, 11 require the examiner to have specific materials on hand which are not included with the test: 17 pennies, strips of colored paper, 7 nickels, 7 dimes, a quarter, a half dollar, 9 as sorted blocks of different color, size, and shape, 2 pieces of green paper, 1 tall glass, 1 plastic cup, 1 shallow pan, water, and 1 ball of clay or other mold ing material. Not all 100 items are administered to all children. One begins with items one level below the child's chronologi cal age. When a child is unable to complete the first 3 tasks presented, one drops to the next lower level before continuing. Testing is discontinued when the child responds incorrectly to 4 out of 5 tasks.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
