MT法で通常用いられる最適平滑化拘束の2次元インバージョンでは, 平滑パラメータαを用いて全てのブロック間の比抵抗変化が滑らかになるように制約が与えられている。このためにMT法データのインバージョンにおいては, 急激に比抵抗値の変化する構造(以降シャープな比抵抗構造という)を再現することが難しい。しかし, 一方でMT法の適用対象となる地質構造はシャープな比抵抗構造を含んでいる可能性が高い。そこで, 本論文では, 滑らかに変化する比抵抗構造とシャープな比抵抗構造を同時に表現することが可能なインバージョンを実現するために, 反射法地震探査など他の手法から推定される境界面の形状情報をMT法の2次元インバージョンに組込むことを提案する。与えた境界面での比抵抗値の急変の程度は新たにハイパーパラメータβを定義することで表現した。また, ハイパーパラメータβの値を決定するためにABIC最小化法を用いて最適なα, βを同時に求める探索手法を開発し, いくつかの異なるモデルに対する数値実験によって, 本手法の妥当性を検討した。数値実験のインバージョン結果では, 比抵抗値の変化する場所に境界面を仮定したモデルにおいてはシャープな比抵抗構造が再現されており, 明瞭な境界面が存在しない場所に境界面を故意に仮定したモデルにおいては滑らかな構造が正しく再現されることを確認した。数値実験において有効性を確認した後, 本手法を南海トラフ熊野灘において取得した海洋MTデータへ適用した。当該地域において実施されている反射法地震探査の深度断面から推定されているプレート境界面を仮定条件としてMT法の2次元インバージョン過程に与えた結果, 通常の2次元インバージョン結果と比較して良好な結果を得ることができた。
