Cet article a pour but de mettre en évidence l’intérêt et la valeur de la méthode du récit phénoménologique comme résultat d’une démarche rigoureuse de l’analyse des données permettant une compréhension fine de phénomènes. L’exercice s’appuie sur deux démarches de recherche portant sur des objets différents mais qui ont toutes les deux abouti à la construction de récits phénoménologiques. La première démarche de recherche explore la dynamique du changement chez des professeurs d’université ayant vécu l’expérience d’implantation d’une innovation pédagogique majeure. La deuxième démarche de recherche examine les savoirs acquis par l’expérience chez un public d’aides-soignantes qui travaillent auprès de personnes âgées dépendantes. Dans cet article, y est exposé la systématisation de la démarche méthodologique conduisant au récit phénoménologique en faisant d’abord un bref aperçu de ses ancrages théoriques, ensuite en rendant accessible son opérationnalisation et enfin en situant sa valeur au regard des critères de scientificité en recherche qualitative.
