Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

In the standard model, the weak interaction is formulated with a purely vector-axial-vector ($V\text{\ensuremath{-}}A$) structure. Without restriction on the chirality of the neutrino, the most general limits on tensor currents from nuclear $\ensuremath{\beta}$ decay are dominated by a single measurement of the $\ensuremath{\beta}\text{\ensuremath{-}}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$ correlation in $^{6}\mathrm{He}$ $\ensuremath{\beta}$ decay dating back over a half century. In the present work, the $\ensuremath{\beta}\text{\ensuremath{-}}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}\text{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\alpha}$ correlation in the $\ensuremath{\beta}$ decay of $^{8}\mathrm{Li}$ and subsequent $\ensuremath{\alpha}$-particle breakup of the ${^{8}\mathrm{Be}}^{*}$ daughter was measured. The results are consistent with a purely $V\text{\ensuremath{-}}A$ interaction and in the case of couplings to right-handed neutrinos (${C}_{T}=\ensuremath{-}{C}_{T}^{\ensuremath{'}}$) limits the tensor fraction to $|{C}_{T}/{C}_{A}{|}^{2}<0.011$ (95.5% C.L.). The measurement confirms the $^{6}\mathrm{He}$ result using a different nuclear system and employing modern ion-trapping techniques subject to different systematic uncertainties.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
