Abstract
Le texte interroge les modalités de la participation des populations locales à la gestion d'espaces protégés en Australie, au Canada et en Nouvelle-Zélande. Le texte postule que la participation s 'inscrit essentiellement dans une relation de pouvoir, conduisant à une recomposition des relations et des processus d'échanges entre les acteurs et aboutissant à l 'acceptation du pouvoir ou à un repositionnement des acteurs au sein du «champ du pouvoir ». Cette approche, s 'appuyant sur des exemples concrets d'espaces protégés, permet de hiérarchiser des niveaux de participation et d'identifier un champ de la participation au sein duquel les tensions servent la réorganisation et la recomposition des rapports entre les parties prenantes, offrant une possibilité de dépasser les appréciations et critiques binaires souvent apportées aux questions de participation.
