Como parte del proyecto de investigacion titulado “Influencia cultural en los trabajadores mexicanos que viajan temporalmente a Canada y sus familias”, se corroboro una vez mas la importancia de las remesas para la mejora de la vivienda de los trabajadores que participan en el Programa de Trabajadores Migrantes Temporales (PTAT) que existe entre Mexico y Canada desde 1974. Esto se logro a partir de las observaciones realizadas dentro del trabajo de campo llevado a cabo en junio de 2003, en dos municipios del sur del estado de Guanajuato, Jaral del Progreso y Salvatierra, asi como con base en las entrevistas efectuadas a 20 trabajadores migrantes temporales y/o sus esposas o hijas.
