L’auteure témoigne d’un travail psychothérapique auprès d’une vieille dame atteinte physiquement et mentalement, et qui va mourir. Elle « va » mourir justement, elle va « à la Maison du Nord », comme elle dit. Douze ans ont passé. L’auteure analyse la place de l’information écrite et d’une réunion de formation du personnel de l’institution dans le processus d’accompagnement et les rites de deuil entourant le trépas de cette personne. Sont également exposées les conséquences et les suites repérables de cette pratique dans l’itinéraire professionnel, et quelques souhaits qui en découlent, avec le recul du temps.
