Abstract
La mise en rapport de deux figures métaphoriques de l’exclusion — le chômeur et l’immigré — permet d’éclairer les processus d’intégration-exclusion des immigrés et les faiblesses et ambiguïtés de la notion d’intégration appliquée à l’immigration. Lorsque la société française s’interroge sur l’intégration de ses immigrés, française prime sur société . Au contraire, poser le problème de l’intégration sociale en France dans le sens de la sociologie classique conduirait à considérer les populations immigrées comme des groupes sociaux parmi d’autres — certains groupes immigrés étant plutôt mieux intégrés que certaines catégories d’autochtones — dans un ensemble complexe et pluriculturel.
