Première leçon : Aborder les droits de l’homme d’un point de vue anthropologique; les origines « modernes » de l’anthropologie; les enjeux politiques de la conférence de Vienne de juin 1993; la crise de l’universalisme révélant une critique de l’occidentalisation du monde et signalant une éventuelle « sortie de modernité ». Deuxième leçon : L’universalisme comme « requis », non comme « acquis »; les origines occidentales de la déclaration universelle des droits de l’homme; les mécanismes de déclaration et de protection dans leurs relations avec la vision occidentale et judéo-chrétienne du monde. Troisième leçon : L’apport des autres traditions liées à leurs visions propres du monde; le rite préféré au Droit dans la pensée confucéenne; quelle place pour les droits d’Adam en terre d’Islam ? la visée cosmo-théo-andrique des philosophies « indiennes »; pluralismes et pensées animistes. Quatrième leçon : Une conception post-moderne de l’universalisme; une vision complexe et pluraliste du monde; échapper à deux excès, un universalisme hâtif et le ghetto des particularismes. Cinquième leçon : Ouvrir la tradition occidentale à une conception interculturelle des droits de l’homme; deux obstacles, l’individualisme et le juridisme; concevoir un modèle interculturel; jouer avec le « tripode » juridique et rechercher dans les relations entre modèles de conduite et systèmes de comportements durables ( habitus ) ce que notre culte légaliste ne peut apporter.
