Abstract
As políticas econômicas fundamentadas no incentivo ao consumo adotadas pelo Estado, principalmente na última década, geraram significativo impacto socioambiental em prejuízo e desproteção aos consumidores. Prezar pelo crescimento econômico sem considerar o desenvolvimento e o consumo sustentável provocou o aumento do endividamento das famílias, dificuldade de mobilidade urbana, recordes de poluição e acidentes de trânsito, entre outros tantos problemas. Os programas de incentivo ao consumo trouxeram uma frustrada ideia de melhora social àquela população que décadas atrás não detinha o poder de aquisição de bens e serviços. Almejar o crescimento sem se atentar com o desenvolvimento socioambiental promove o ter, e deixa a construção do ser em segundo plano, e não se mostra o caminho mais adequado de condução das políticas públicas.
