Abstract
In this article,the authors decompose the tend en cy term T,the seasonal factor S and irregular factor E by means of X-11 accordi n g to the 1973-1981 birth datums in Canada,and then forecast the birth quantity o f the first half of 1982.Furthermore,compared with the forecasting result of Win ters-Holt approach,X-11 method is more accurate to be used in forecasting the birth quantity.
