Abstract
The 12th National Metropolis Conference was held in Montreal in March,2010.Its major priorities includ Citizenship and social,cultural,linguistic and civic integration;Economic and labor market integration;Family,children,youth;The role of the host communities for newcomers and minorities;Justice,policing and security;Housing,neighborhoods and the urban environment.The paper follows the reports on Conference priorities,discusses the significance of Canadian federal multicultural policies in the time of the post-economic crisis,exams the fresh requirements and challenges prompted by the new historical and international circumstances,tries to cast a would-be panorama of the integrated Canadian society to come,and sees how its multicultural ideology contributes to the human society at large.
