Abstract
With the completed of Yueyang Tower scenic spot and Bianhe Street Area,the Dongting lake scenic spot become a focus,attract the attention of Yueyang citizen and tourists.It's also another typical case for transformation of the old city. This article take the project of Yueyang Tower scenic spot-Yuxiangzi areaas an example,explore the problem which exist in transformation of the old city quarter,expound the principles and methods for waterfront urban renewal and urban design.
