This experiment was conducted by two Elymus nutans seeds( Beijing and Shenzha) with different concentrations of 5-aminolevulinic acid( ALA,0 mg / L、0. 1 mg / L、1. 0 mg / L、5. 0 mg / L、10. 0 mg / L) for 24 h to research the effect of exogenous 5-aminolevulinic acid on the germination and seedlings growth of Elymus nutans seeds under low temperature stress. The results showed that under low temperature stress,appropriate concentration of ALA( 0. 1-1. 0 mg / L) presoaking seeds can extremely improve the germination rate( GR),germination index( GI),root length,seedling length and fresh weight of Beijing and Shenzha Elymus nutans seeds,reduce the membrane permeability and MDA content. However,high concentration of ALA( 5. 0 mg /L and 10. 0 mg / L) inhibit seeds germination. This research showed that 5-aminolevulinic acid may promote the germination and seedlings growth of Elymus nutans seeds under low temperature stress,and 1. 0 mg / L ALA being most effective under low temperature stress.
