Clinical Observation of Acupuncture Combined with Ossotide Point Injection on Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Protrusion

Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture combined with ossotide point injection on lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion(LIDP) ,especially in pain relief. Methods 64 patients corresponding to diagnosis standards and the request of present pain intensity(PPI≥2) of the short-form McGill pain questionnaire were randomly divided into two groups,the treatment group was treated with acupuncture combined with ossotide point injection and the control group with simple acupuncture. The integral of clinical symptoms of two groups were evaluated with short-form McGill pain questionnaire and the changes of contents of blood plasma β-EP were determined. Results The pain scores were decreased after treatment in both groups,and there was a significant difference between them(P0.01) . The increasing amplitude of the contents of blood plasma β-EP in treatment group was higher than that in control group,and there was a significant difference between them(P0.05) . Conclusion Both acupuncture combined with ossotide point injection and simple acupuncture can improve clinical symptoms of patients with LIDP,and the therapeutic effect of the former was superior to that of the later,especially in pain relief.
