Abstract
In this review,it mainly described the harmfulness,types and genetic way of monogenic genetic defects in dairy cattle.Six kinds of genetic defects of the latest research progress were reviewed,including Complex Vertebral Malformation(CVM),Bovine Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency(BLAD),Deficiency of Uridine Monophophate Synthase(DUMPS),Citrullinemia(CN),Factor XI(FXI) and Syndactyly(Mulefoot,MF),for which carriers must be reported on pedigrees officially requested by World Holstein Friesian Federation and Canadian Holstein Association.
