Abstract
We study the seeds of Rabdosia japonica(Burm.f.)Hara's physical and chemical changes in the process of the artificial aging.The result showed that the germination rate,germination energy,germination index and vigor index were reduced in aging seed.Also the electrical conductivity and MDA content raised with increasing of aging time.Its' protective enzyme(CAT,POD,SOD) presented the trend of lower either.The content of the seed storage substances(soluble sugar,soluble protein) also showed a decreasing tendency.It turns out to be that the decline of seed vitdily in the process of aging might be due to the cell membrane systems which were compromised and poisonous or toxic substances accumulation.This study provided the theoretical basis for the reasonable seed storage and the seed vigor improvement in its production of Rabdosia japonica(Burm.f.)Hara.
