Abstract
Among ethnic groups in metropolitan Toronto,the Chinese are most dynamic in developing their business. This article attempts to explain the success of Chinese economic activities by analyzing the changing demographic composition and geographic distribution of the Chinese population in Toronto,exploring the new patterns of Chinese business activities,and employing various theories such as Blocked Mobility Thesis,Cultural Division of Labor,and Interactive Model of Ethnic Entrepreneurship . The author argues that acculturation instead of assimilation will be a new direction for a multicultural society.
