Abstract
The 278 papers published in Journal of Xiaogan University (Natural Sciences Edition) during 1996-2003 in total 10 issues were analyzed statistically.The results are as follows: the average number of papers per issue is 27.8,length per article is 3.45 pages,average number of authors is 1.52,the percentage of co-authorship is 36.33.According to Price' law,the number of essential authors is 61,the number of eminent authors is 19.
