The firewall technology has experienced three stages:Packet Filter,Application Proxy Gateway and Status Inspec- tion.Affected by the increase of remote offices,compartmentalizing of Intranet and hacker attacks,firewall technology has been developing to the direction of VPN technology,subdivision of Intranet,closedown of Port 80,and depth detection on data pack- ets.Only be configured correctly and scientifically can the firewall fully play its irreplaceable role in digital library.
