Abstract
Until now,there has been no identical explanation to The Moon over Mount Brow by Li Bai. According to Mao Shi Zheng YI(《毛诗正义》)and other documents, I confirm that The Crescent Moon refers to First Quarter Moon;the moon, seen before mid-night while not before dawn, is just First Quarter Moon. In the light of Huang He's Bu Zhu DU Shi《补注杜诗》and other documents, I confirm that The Town on Clear Stream lies in Qianwei County. According to the poem, the boat went through Pingqiang River, and stopped in Jiazhou when it was dark. Then it started from Jiazhou the next morning and stopped in a town on Clear Stream. When the poet left the town on Clear Stream before dawn the next day, First Quarter Moon had fallen. At this time, the poet didn't see the moon but missed it all the time. All these illustrate that the style of the poem is realistically as well as elegantly and romantically.
