Effects of Priming Treatment on Germination and Decreasing Dormancy at High Temperature of Lettuce Seed

Abstract
The seeds of special heat-resistant er bai pi and Bi lv qing were used as test materials,and the effects of priming treatment with vermiculite and without treatment were studied on the seed germination under different temperaturs.The results showed that after priming treatment,the seed with vermiculite,germination rate,germination energy and the fresh and dry weights of seedlings were significantly higher than those of control.The difference were significantly at 28℃.Different varieties had different effect,and the vermiculite was better than the PEG.Lettuce seed had an obvious phenomenon of thermodormancy.The aboved results indicated that priming treatment with vermiculite could reduce thermodormancy of the lettuce seed,and the vermiculite treatment could significantly promote seed germination.
