By analyzing water quality difference before and after construction of floating bed,before and after removal of floating bed as well as between the bedside and open waterway,the purification effect of ecological floating bed on an estuary was investigated,and its purification mechanism was analyzed.The results are as follows:① the ecological floating bed can remove pollutants effectively,the net removal rates of TP,TN and NH+4-N are 10.4%,8.1% and 18.1% respectively;② Because of the complexity of nitrogen recycle,the removal rates of NO-3-N and NO-2-N are negative;③ Water quality improvement of the project can be contributed to the comprehensive effects of lake water dilution,estuary self-purification and ecological floating bed;④ After removal of the ecological floating bed,the purification effect on the estuary gets worse,and the removal rates of TP,TN and NH+4-N are only 18.2%,9.2% and 27.8% respectively.
