Abstract
Based on the research of ROI(Region of Interest) coding in JPEG2000 standard,the paper proposes an automatic face locating method by introducing AdaBoost algorithm into the JPEG2000 basic system.The method firstly locates the face region by AdaBoost face detecting algorithm,then generates the ROI mask dynamically,and finally codes ROI by using Maxshift method suggested in JPEG2000 PartⅠ.Simulation results illustrated the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.
