Responses of Rumex hastatus to Light and Different Temperature in Seed Germination

Abstract
The experiment took Rumex hastatus seeds as the test materials,the effects of different temperature and light on the seed germination of R. hastatus were studied. The results showed that the seed of R. hastatus was a light requirement seed and it had photodormancy. The optimal temperature for germination was 17. 3-26. 8 ℃ in light. At temperature of 25 ℃,the seeds began to germinate within 3 days and the germination was completed after 12 days. The percentage of germination was up to 80. 71% ± 4. 56%. The changes in temperature could reduce the seeds germination percentage and germination index. The temperature and light were major ecological factors affecting seed germination of Rumex hastatus.
