Abstract
School choice is a worldwide phenomenon, and educational policy of school choice have been implemented in many countries. This paper discusses the inevitability and rationality of this situation happened at the stage of compulsory education in our country, in the meanwhile, analyses the implementation of the policy of school choice in the United States, Britain, and Canada. After considering, the author suggests that under conditions in China at this stage we should draw on some of the foreign experience, but it's not suitable to encourage school choice at the national level.
