Application of Mo CAscale in assessing cognitive impairment in patients with transien tischemic attacks

Abstract
Objective To explore the assessment of Mo CAscale on cognitive impairment after transient ischemic attacks(TIA).Method Fifty-one TIA patients were tested for cognitive function by using Montreal Cognitive Assessment(Mo CA) after onset.Another 41 health people matched with age,gender and education level were selected as the control group.The results of Mo CA test were compared between the two groups.Results The summed scores of Mo CA in patients with TIA were significantly lower than those of normal controls.The scores of vision space and executive function,attention and delayed memory in TIA patients were markedly lower than those in normal controls(P0.01),but there was no significant difference in the scores of denomination,language,Abstract thinking and orientation between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion TIA patients have cognition impairments related to frontal and temporal lobes at some extent,and Chinese edition Mo CA can be used to evaluate cognition impairment after TIA.
