Abstract
In light of energy demand and the status quo of exploration and development in China,this paper firstly introduced what and how Chinese industry could learn from many successful experiences from the U.S.A.,Australia,and Canada,etc.;then analyzed in-depth both favorable opportunities and potent risks that exploration and development in China had to face up with.Many suggestions were put forward as follows:(1) economic policy on industry should be much more open than that on conventional oil and gas;(2) compulsive policy on CBM gas extraction before coal in coal mines should be performed by encouragement and punishment;(3) laws and regulations should be established on resource protection and industry supervision.Chinese industry will take this challenge to develop well in the eleventh Five-Year plan.
