Abstract
Objective To explore the mental health status and alexithymia in patients with somatoform disorder(SD).Methods A total of 57 patients with SD were assessed with Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90) and Toronto Alexithymia Scale(TAS-26).The result was compared with national norm.Results Total score and factor scores of SCL-90 and TAS-26 in patients with SD were significantly higher than those in national norm(P0.01).Conclusion The mental health status is poor and the alexithymia is common in patients with SD.
