Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Residential steel structure is one of development directions of residential buildings and the influence of corrosion on the durability of residential steel structure is one of the key factors that blocks its popularization. The project Service life of galvanized steel framing for residential building launched by the International Lead Zinc Research Organization was to measure the corrosion rates of actual zinc and zinc alloy coatings on steel framing samples during seven-year exposure in four different typical home environments in the USA and Canada. The results show that the coating corrosion of galvanized steel samples with the coating weight 200~270 g/m2 was very small in those four kinds of environment and also was small for the samples with similar coating weight. The estimated life expectancy based on the maximum mass loss in all samples ranged from 258 to 964 years with an average of 574 years at all locations. It is clear that zinc coated steel components of a residential framing system will not be degraded by corrosion during the service life of a structure.Galvanized steel can be used as sustainable material in buildings.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
