Abstract
Canadian English is a regional variant with distinctive characteristics.Canadian English is formed by three ways:inheritance,innovation and borrowing.Compared with other varieties of English,Canadian English borrows more frequently and widely.Canada is a multi-ethnic,multi-cultural and multi-lingual country which provides the premise to absorb and adopt foreign languages.The introduction of loan words follow certain principles and rules.Canadian English borrows words from other languages mainly through the ways of direct loan,half loan,sub tenancy and loan translation.
