1500 years ago,culture of indigenous people all over the world developed in a natural way and education was aimed at inheriting traditional culture.As the earliest inhabitants in North America,Indians,in their long history,not only formed their living style,social organization and traditional culture to suit for their living environment,but also developed traditional education to inherit their local culture.This paper elaborates on life philosophy and education concept of Indians in North America and discusses the basic contents and form of their traditional education.The writers think that traditional education of Indians is the logical start of education history of America,Canada and even North America.
