Abstract

For Binary Translation,the unit of translation and execution is a basic block.After a basic block is executed,the control of the program must return to the execution engine,and start a new enquiry to the next basic block,which led to control switching frequently.Translation chaining technology can be used to reduce this switching.This paper summarizes some chaining technology commonly used in binary translators,such as Translation Linking, Trace Linearization,Software indirect jump prediction,etc.In addition,we test the effectiveness of the chaining technology in CrossBit.
