Abstract
In the light of complicated network system environment, the paper proposes a monitoring systemonthe basis of SNMP Network Protocol ,JAVA language and scientific measurementsystem, which can be conducted to collect the information of network traffic and calculate network utilization. Meanwhile a revised method of Single Exponential Smoothing is regarded as a model of forecasting traffic to timely alarm for network unexpected traffic so as to manage the network in a scientific, effective and accurate way.
