Seven different varieties lettuce seeds were treated with all light and light 6,4,2 h and dark at beginning of the imbinition.Then all the seeds were immediately put in the dark incubator at constant temperature of 20 ℃ and 30 ℃ for germination.Counted germination rate at the 7 th day,and analyzed the effect on germination of same or different varieties treated by different light.The results showed that:germination percentage of lettuce seeds was different from varieties.At 20 ℃ constant temperature,germination percentage of different varieties was all relative high.Different light led to germination percentage behaved differently between varieties,but the difference was not significant and had no laws.At 30 ℃ constant temperature,germination percentage was influenced significantly by light,and germination percentage correlated positively with lighting time,this phenomenon indicated that lettuce seeds need light during germination.
