Abstract

The article had determined the total phenols content and PPO of 1-3 year Rhododendron delavayi Franch.s 'leaf blade,stem apex and stem section.The results showed that the total phenols content and PPO activity of 1-2 year stem section was lower,the two years' had no remarkable difference,Tissue culture browning of 2 year was lowest.Studied further on the relationship among tissue culture browning,the total phenols content,PPO of 2 year stem section in different months,the result indicated that browning rate was extremely remarkable being related to the total phenols content (r=0.879**),was remarkable being related to the PPO(r=0.714*),explained that tissue culture browning was caused by the total phenols content and PPO.
