Abstract
Bonding,packaging and embedding techniques of the fiber grating in strain monitoring of concrete were studied.One scheme of packaging technique using Ishaped steel slice was proposed and demonstrated.Then it is instrumented into a steel reinforced conrete beam to monitor strain change of concrete in compressed area.The results show that there is good agreement between modified results of packaged fiber grating and strain gauges in the range of little strain.
