Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture at Huatuojiaji points in treating central pain after spinal cord injury.Methods Thirty-four patients with central pain after spinal cord injury were treated with electroacupuncture at Huatuojiaji points.Pre-and post-treatment evaluations were made using the Simplified Mcgill Pain Questionnaire,the Visual Analogous Scale(VAS) and the Activities of Daily Living(ADL).Results At the end of 2 treatment courses,all 6 pain parameter values decreased(P0.05) and the activities of daily living(ADL) improved markedly(P0.01).Conclusion Electroacupuncture at Huatuojiaji points has a marked therapeutic effect on central pain after spinal cord injury.
